- 0.5 pound (226 grams) thinly sliced provolone or Swiss cheese
- 0.5 cup (120 milliliters) caramelized onions
Horseradish Mayo:
- 0.25 cup (60 milliliters) mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon cream-style horseradish (Inglehoffer recommended)
Butter Sauce:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
Dipping Jus:
- 2 cups (480 milliliters) beef broth or stock
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1.5 tablespoons all-purpose flour (optional for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1–2 teaspoons Better Than Bouillon Beef Base
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 0.25 teaspoon dried)
Instructions
- Carefully slice rolls horizontally using a serrated knife, positioning cut-side up on a baking sheet. Toast under broiler for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden, monitoring closely to prevent burning.
- Blend mayonnaise with horseradish in a small mixing bowl, adjusting spiciness according to preference.
- Arrange slider bottoms in a greased baking dish. Spread a layer of prepared horseradish mayo, then layer with cheese slices, roast beef, caramelized onions, and additional cheese. Coat roll tops with remaining mayo and place over the filling.
- Prepare butter sauce by combining melted butter with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and chopped parsley. Generously brush mixture over slider tops and sides.
- Cover baking dish with aluminum foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking 5-8 minutes until tops turn golden and edges become crispy.
- Create jus during baking by sautéing minced garlic in butter. Whisk in broth and desired seasonings. Simmer for 10 minutes, then strain and keep warm.
- Allow sliders to rest briefly after removing from oven. Slice into individual portions and serve alongside warm jus for dipping.
Notes
- Customize Heat Level Adjust horseradish mayo by adding more or less horseradish to match personal spice preferences, creating a personalized kick.
- Gluten-Free Option Swap regular rolls for gluten-free slider buns and use cornstarch instead of flour when making jus to accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Meal Prep Hack Assemble sliders in advance and refrigerate, covered, then bake just before serving for convenient entertaining or quick weeknight dinners.
- Flavor Enhancers Experiment with different cheese varieties like provolone or swiss to add unique depth and complexity to the classic French dip slider experience.
